As secretary of the group of priests in Option for the Poor in Argentina, and before the penalty to our brother and colleague Nicholas Alessio, we would like briefly to get our opinion.

First we want to show solidarity and brotherhood with Nico clear at this difficult time, know- is living.

further regrets the lack of dialogue, something that many times from the same church domes have been encouraged not seem to be applied in this case.
regret that society gives an image of intolerance and tension, at times proclaiming tolerance, respect those who think differently, and call the meeting. We assume that what is being asked to administrative bodies should be lived out happily also inward.

regret that so hard to punish a brother, citing the doctrine and teaching, and not to act at least as "staff", and without doubt, much more severely, with cases of convicted members of the Church by the independent powers of the Republic for crimes against humanity, or child abuse and pedophilia.

regret, finally, that in some church circles, it transmits a message to civil society designed to be very strict and intolerant on issues related to sexual morality and not look and act much more strongly to the torture, disappearance people, child abuse, business model complicit in genocidal economic profit and selfish infinity, that poison the land and waters, which lie at society from the mainstream media coverage of or enslave humans for textile companies and farming, as often in solidarity with some sectors church through alms or advice.

As priests in the option for the poor want to repeat our solidarity with Nico, and invite the church authorities to review their attitudes and find ways to the final consequences of acting more like the Gospel and the Kingdom.
