Those who know me know that long ago one of my favorite pastimes when I visit the capital is going to the theater or a musical of which are playing at that time in Madrid. On this occasion, was particularly interested to see Avenue Q, a musical that was preceded by a big hit on Broadway since its premiere in 2003 (3 Tony Awards in 2004: Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score) and currently you can see in the New Apollo Theatre , located in the Plaza de Tirso de Molina.
The plot begins with the arrival of Princetown (a naive new graduate) to Avenue Q. Despite initial optimism, Princetown is about to discover that the future is not as bright a place as it seemed, that the world is shit, and that his new title is not worth wrapping the sandwich. There you will have to start from scratch and rediscover their goal in life, for which we will support other private tenants this block of buildings: a failed comedian, a therapist with no clients, a broker gay and hetero journal sublet, Kate and Trekkie Monster or building manager, the child star Gary Coleman has come down. The musical numbers are pure luxury, while the interaction between puppets and characters of flesh and bone is just perfect.
As a reminder, here are some pictures and scenes from it. If you have already seen, repasareis with a smile, if not, what are you waiting for? Worthwhile, and the representation ends in mid January.
